Awarded School of Excellence in 2014 for highest pass rate in written and skill score for the South Carolina Nurse Aide registry. Current Written / Skill score 100%. (2019)

CNAPA will prepare you for the responsibilities you will assume as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). A CNA is an individual who is responsible and capable of taking care of sick, disabled, and elderly patients. They are a very important part of the healthcare team. They are the primary caregivers of patients in hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and physician offices. CNA’s are in high demand across South Carolina due to the shortage of healthcare providers. Entry-level positions for CNA mid-level salary between 26,569 – 37,900.

CNAs spend more time with the patients throughout the day helping with any request the patient may have in dressing, bathing, grooming, toiling, hygiene, walking, and eating. They act as the “eyes and ears” of the team by observing and reporting changes in the resident’s condition.

A CNA has a strong knowledge of emergency procedures and be able to stay calm in stressful situations. CNA’s support the resident care plans which allow a patient to get well quickly and reach their optimum level of performance. High-quality job performance as a CNA includes having the physical stamina (physical fitness) to stand for long periods, bending, lifting 40lbs or more, squatting but most importantly being able to be an independent thinker and worker.

CNAs must be able to use creative thinking skills along with critical care thinking skills. CNA’s must work hard while in training to develop time management skills and prioritize resident care until these skills are mastered.

They work under the direct supervision of qualified nurses and providers. If you feel you have what it takes to become a CNA, then we encourage you to take the next step and enroll in our program. At CNAPA we offer flexible enrollment options and we service students to meet a variety of needs, such as earning extra money to generate extra income, fulfilling their dream to become a nursing assistant or pursuing a professional nursing career.
